Rising suns their crescent moon hearts glowing in amber gold send long, sharp rays across every inch of jet black velvet, covering the jacket front to back, sleeve to sleeve, in a celestial composition of extraordinary graphic power.
The sun and crescent moon together are among the oldest and most universal symbols in human history found in the textile traditions of Central Asia, the Ottoman empire, and across the ancient world. Here they are rendered in raised gold embroidery on velvet, transformed from symbol into statement.
